Employees must begin each shift by entering the exact amount of cash placed in the cash drawer.
At the end of the shift, the POS system calculates total cash and credit sales.
The starting cash amount is deducted from the ending cash total to determine the actual cash sales for that shift.
It is extremely important that employees start and end each shift with the correct and consistent cash amounts to ensure accurate reporting. |
